According to New York Times, “the Afropunk Fest encompasses music, socio-cultural politics and a kaleidoscopically colorful wardrobe…”

The HuffPost Style also said “if there is any music festival where black men, women, boys and girls can be their carefree, cool and creative selves, it’s at AfroPunk Fest. The annual festival this past weekend attracted thousands of innately stylish people from all backgrounds…”

AFROPUNK, according to the curators is about defining culture by the collective creative actions of the individual and the group. It is a safe place, a blank space to freak out in, to construct a new reality, to live your life as you see fit, while making sense of the world around you.

Afro: as in, born of African spirit and heritage… black (not always), rhythm and color.

Punk: as in, rebel, opposing the simple route, imbued with a DIY ethic, looking forward with simplicity, rawness and open curiosity.

The Afropunk Festival is also commonly referred to as AP Fest, and it is an annual arts festival that celebrates and unifies the cultural cornerstones of afro punk through music, film, skate, art and fashion!

The just concluded AP Fest in Atlanta that took place on the 14th and 15th October saw black people of different shapes and shades slaying with mind-blowing and creative street styles.

Aside from live performances from artistes like Solange, the event was playground for the slay gang! Attendees were looking chic, on point and stylish! The street style fashion would inspire you greatly to add a few of these creative styles to your wardrobe.
