SEYI SHAY, SCHICK MAGAZINE AND TOP THREE DESIGNERS AT LFDW
When music meets fashion, you can bet fans, followers and fashionistas in general will gather – especially when it is a musician as hot as the curvy Seyi Shay!
Before we dive right into that, we are sure that everywhere any of us turns these days, we are met with news and images from the ongoing Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2017, right?! It’s just really awesome!
So, in collaboration with three top designers showcasing at the Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2017, SCHICK Magazine got a sneak peek of pieces from the S/S 18 runway collection!
The three top designers include DNA by Iconic Invanity, Moofa & Gozel Green; and the lovely singer and performing artist, Seyi Shay is the muse for this digital fashion editorial.
In an exclusive interview with SCHICK Magazine, Seyi Shay opens up about her year so far, her projects, personal style and the designers she loves among other things.
On having a great year so far, the singer revealed that 2017 “was definitely my year for my personal projects ‘Yolo Yolo’, ‘Weekend Vibes’ and ‘Your Matter’ which was my first official single under Island Records, the label I’m signed to in the UK . These singles are pretty much about appreciating everything and everywhere that you might be at the time, appreciating your past and what it has made you into and looking forward to the future.”
For those that did not know what her personal style is, she revealed that to be the boho chic style. “I like to keep it fresh and young but still unique to me and I feel like me cutting my hair really fits well with the direction that we are moving into with my style…”
She also listed Iconic Invanity, Deola Sagoe as designers she’s currently loving. She goes further to say, “I’ve always loved Maki Oh because she’s so fresh and I’m also really loving SGTC Clothing which is a new label by an African Designer. I’m in love with a Designer from South Africa called Zarth, they design and make the most fabulous evening dresses and even daytime dresses if you don’t want to look too glam. I just love African fashion in general and I am an advocate for all my African designers, I wear them all the time no matter where I am.”
